Quick cert = MCP certification

The MCP certification is a quick cert. It concentrates on a set of job functions-based skills with a single Microsoft product. Some say the MCP is a joke.... Well, life is a joke. You're still here aren't you?

This certification isn't a joke. You may not appreciate it now but when you are high up in your career and looking down on all of us, that's when you appreciate all those little steps that got you where you are.

So should you do it?

Ummmm.... Yeah. That is, if you want to work with Microsoft products. If you are more interested in Cisco, then stop bothering us.

This cert is one you will do when you have picked a track you wish to follow. Say you wanted to do the MCDST. Well, the MCDST has two exams. When you sit for one of them, you become an MCP. When you sit for both you become an MCDST.

So isn't this certification a bit redundant? Not really, you get two certs instead of one. And since you are going to sit for the exams anyway, why not get two certs? True?
