1. What is Comptia's Project Management Exam?

This is an entry level certification for project management.

 

2. Is it useful?

Project Management is one area of IT that is on the rise. In other words, it's hot!

Comptia's Project+ is a way to get onto that first step in this area of the industry. There is no experience required to sit for the exam. The certification teaches you an understanding of the Project Mangement process. The material combines Project components with IT elements.

 

3. Will it help you find a job?

This cert and the PMP cert (with the required experience) are a definite benefit.

 

4. What will the project management exam do for you?

These are Comptia's words : "CompTIA Project+ is a globally recognized project management certification that provides validation of fundamental project management skills. It covers the entire project life cycle from initiation and planning through execution, acceptance, support and closure. CompTIA Project+ gives project managers the skills necessary to complete projects on time and within budget, and creates a common project management language among project team members."

 

5. Do I need any prior experience to be able to sit for the exam?

Comptia recommends that you have 12 months practical project management experience but it's not required. It's an entry level certification.

 

6. What are the specs for the exam?

There is one exam to pass which is the PK0-002. It consists of 80 questions. You are allowed 90 minutes to complete this exam. The passing score is 499.

 

7. Where do I book the exam?

Certification exams are booked through prometric.com or vue.com.

 

8. Does Comptia's Project+ expire?

No expiration date. You pass the exam and you hold the certification for life. It's also recognized in over 100+ countries.
