Is the Microsoft MCT certification worth the expense?

The Microsoft MCT Certification is the highest Microsoft certification. It's a teaching certification. There is an annual fee associated with this cert of 400 USD per year.

Is it worth the expense?

There are many certifications out there and each time you have to weigh each one to what value it will give you. This of course will also go hand in hand with where you live. In some countries you can teach without this cert, in others, because of job competition you need it.

With this certification you can teach Microsoft products - it only covers Microsoft products. If you want to teach something else, Cisco for example, you need to go through another process. To continue to stay MCT certified, you need to pay the annual 400 USD fee. It also requires each trainer to meet the minimum student feedback scores each year.

Teaching requires that you have good presentation skills and that you are able to explain things at an easy-to-understand way. Is the annual fee worth it to you? You are the only one that can decide.
