Microsoft Certification Program MCSA and MCSE: Use Your Comptia Certs as Electives
|
The Microsoft certification program MCSA and MCSE allows you to use 3 of your comptia certs as an elective. These certs are:
As an elective for the MCSA you can use the A+ with either Network+ certs or Server+.
or if you are following the MCSA security track, you can also use the Security+ cert.
As an elective for the MCSE you can use the Security+ cert. |
What you need first
First you will need to get your MCP identification number (MCP ID). You get this after passing at least one of the MCSA or MCSE exams. Your ID number will be sent by email. This number will be sent to you whether you pass or fail.
How to apply for this
Have your score report ready. If you have lost it, contact prometric.com or vue.com (depending on which you used to book your exam). Now go to the CompTIA website to see your records. Click on the 'publish credentials" and provide your MCP ID on the form. This will send your information to Microsoft. From there on you will receive notification from Microsoft.
