The primary memory function is to bring back answers

You do this without realizing it sometimes, but now I want you to think about this. “Have you ever asked a question in your mind, something you were unsure of, and the answer came back to you? Sometimes when you didn’t expect it?”

Our brain's primary memory function is to bring back answers to our questions. In other words, to dig through all the data it stores in order to bring back information. Our brains are like computers after all.

When you put something into it, you can retrieve it.

So another way of accelerating learning is to ask questions. Don’t strain to answer them. Just ask the question in a calm fashion, and don’t except the answer to come back to you immediately. Just allow it to come to you in its own good time.I ask questions as I’m reading my certification material.

And I ask questions when I have a quiet moment. I may be cooking and thinking about my certification material and just randomly begin to ask questions. Then as I’m doing the laundry, the answers begin pouring in.

Asking questions also has the benefit of keeping your mind active to the certification material

For your mind to find you an answer, it will begin digging into its files. If it can’t find it, it will dig further to other information you have associated with it. It won’t stop till it comes back with something unless you choose to stop it. If you think, “ok the answer isn’t that important’, then it will stop. But if you don’t stop it, it will continue to search. If still can't find the information you seek, it will keep your question 'active'. After all, it hasn't come up with an answer yet - it hasn't completed its task.

What do you think happens then if you are readng something from your book, your notes or even when you are surfing the internet? When your mind spots the answer, it jolts you. Your mind is happy now. It has completed its task. And as a reward, your will remember the answer to this question.

The trick to this is to have your mind calm. Allow the answers to come to you in their own good time. Don’t strain.
