Are MCSE boot camps the fastest way to get certified?Yes they are. The fastest way and the most expensive.
Exams are taken on site and you are given a second chance if you fail one of them. You are also coached to make sure you pass the second time. As certifications are still valid but have lost some of the 'luster' of years gone by, it's not really worth paying all that money out of your own pocket to become an MCSE. In the 'old days', having an MCSE pretty much guaranteed you a job with a high salary to come with it. Typically people that attend MCSE boot camps do so because employers pay for it. Boot camps don't cover the basics. To excel in one, you need to have expensive experience and only need a brush up in order to pass the exams. So, they are great but they come with a high price.
