MCP Cert or Comptia A+? Which to do for better career prospects?
Whether you do your MCP cert or your comptia A+, the issues is still the same. You need them both, especially if you are a new person entering the I.T industry. And even if you aren't, most advance IT professionals still go for their A+ as it's a solid cert and studying for it gives you overall knowledge of the hardware.
- You need the A+ because it gives you an overall knowledge of hardware and OS technologies.
- You need your MCP because it concentrates on one specific topic.
Your MCP is also attractive to employers (where most use Microsoft Operating Systems).
For entry level positions, certs are a must so consider getting both and then continue on the track you choose. If an employer was to compare a resume with certs and one without, which one do you think would stand out?
