Can the MCDST certification Microsoft be used as an elective?

When and if, you wanted to progress to the higher MCSA certification, The MCDST certification microsoft is recognized as an elective.

If you already have the Comptia A+ or Network+, unfortunately for these certs, these are not recognized as electives. But you can use those for the MCSA - they count as electives for that one.

But you may think, doesn't the A+ touch on the microsoft operating system? Yes it does.

The A+ provide excellent hardware and foundational knowledge of a computer. The MCDST exams go beyond the basics and focuses on diagnosis and assessment of end-user incident requests on the Microsoft Windows operating system and the applications that run on it.

The MCDST exams include troubleshooting procedures consistent with the Microsoft Operations Framework. The MCDST credential is focused specifically on the desktop support technician working in a service desk environment.
