I'm addicted too

I've been addicted to computers since I was 12 years old! When my dad bought our first computer, I became fascinated with it. Of course I wasn't allowed to touch it much which made it even more desireable. But I used to love watching my dad work away on it.
When I was 15, my parents helped me buy a pc of my own. That was one of the happiest days of my life. And of course, I became a programmer.
There was a period in my life that I did become addicted to my computers. I worked on them day and night and it did ruin some of the relationships I had at the time. I was either working on programs I was coding or surfing the internet. I'm talking 16-20 hour days.
Then came a small addiction to games, but didn't last long as it was taking lots of time away from my real passion which is programming.
It was difficult for me at first but I did have to learn to take time and do other things in my life.
I live close to the beach and hadn't been down there for a swim or walk for 3 years. I realized that balance was what I needed.
Yes, I'm still addicted to my computer. It gives me immense pleasure but I've also learned that life has many other things to offer and I try to enjoy more of them.
