You are an IT professional that invests in himself/herself and is worth more.  Always think of yourself as a contractor, even when going for your first IT job. A contractor goes into a company and sees how he can help out. Provides solutions. Everyone that is working for someone else is providing solutions.

Companies wouldn't be where they are if they didn't have the people to get them where they are.
