I will tell you how to get there faster

First: Plan where you want to go

If you don't plan where you want to go, you may end up in a place you didn't want to. Planning where you will ultimately end up isn't difficult really. Just have a big picture in your mind. What do you like working with? Look at career centers on the internet which describe the higher paying positions and what skills and knowledge they involve. Then work towards getting them. But remember, the big picture isn't fixed in stone. Somewhere along the line that big picture may be replaced by another big picture. Be focused but also be flexible.

Second: Remember that knowledge will get you there

I.T professionals are on a constant road of learning. Comptia certifications are only the beginning of a wonderful journey. This may not sound too motivating but remember... you are learning something you are really interested in. It's not like school where you are taught what you 'need' to know. You are learning technologies because you 'want' to. Makes a big difference.

Third: Study faster to learn more faster

How can you take the comptia certifications you want to do and halve the time to get them all? Use all the time you have allocated to study and use every minute of it. There is no use trying to study a big certification book when your mind is just not in it. Yes, you will experience those times. So get that information into your head another way.

1. Study your book
2. Do lab work
3. Practice with practice exams
4. Watch CBT videos
5. Listen to certification mp3s

If you have allocated 2 hours a day to study and find one of those days that you just can't get your mind to cooperate with reading your certification book, then switch methods. Do something that you will still learn but is less of a strain. Watch a cbt. Or relax on the couch while listening to certification mp3s. The information is still getting in your head. You are still learning.

Fourth: Always keep your mind entertained

Reading a comptia certifications book isn't like reading a novel where you can become engrossed in the story and characters. Certification reading requires more brain power. You will be more motivated to 'study', and do it for a lot longer when you begin associating pleasure with learning. If it's a constant pain in-the-you-know-what, then how motivated will you be in doing it?
