What is the CompTIA APlus Certification?

The Comptia APlus certification is the first cert almost all of us start with. It's provided by an organization called the CompTIA (Computing Technology Industry Association).

	This is an organization that is vendor neutral. This means that it's not specific to a vendor's product (like Microsoft's or Cisco's products) so you get a broader knowledge base. This organization had made things easy for us. The a+ cert is for those wishing to be IT Technicians, so imagine if, in order to become a technician, we had to get certified with each vendor!

Most of us start with this cert because we are learning the basic technologies every manufacturer needs us to know. From then on, we can go and learn specific technologies as required by Microsoft, Cisco etc. It really is a great foundation to grow from.

Many organizations require that you have some form of certification and this is the one most of us start with. Not only are we learning the technologies but we are showing potential employers that we have a great foundation in which we can start with.

The a+ cert is the most popular of all the certifications out there. It has worldwide reach and is recognized in over 100 countries.
