MCP or Comptia A+? Which to do for better career prospects?
The Comptia A+ gives you an overall knowledge of hardware and OS technologies.
|
The Microsoft MCP concentrates on a specific technology.
Seriously? Do both if you wanted to follow a Microsoft track. Do the A Plus first and then choose a Microsoft track. That track may have 5 exams. Once you do the first (whichever one) you become an MCP. Once you complete all 5 exams, then you become whatever title that track has.

For new people entering the I.T industry...
The A Plus is a must have, the MCP is attractive to employers (those who use Microsoft Operating Systems - most of them, in other words).
