Are you comparing yourself to other IT professionals?

Have you ever felt intimidated when you got a job and all the other IT team members were more experienced than you? Makes you feel kinda dumb. This happened with my third job in information technology. I was hired as a junior systems administrator. And it took me a good six months to stop feeling stupid every day. The times that I thought of quitting, I couldn't even count. But luckily I had enough sense not to.

What I leant was that everyone has to allow themselves to feel stupid in order to grow. Everyone makes mistakes when they are doing something new to them. Those mistakes though will stop one day and you can look forward to feeling like an expert.
