CCNA Certification vs Network+ Confusion

Both have to do with networking and new comers get confused which will give them better job prospects.

The Network+ is an entry certification. With it you will start laying down the foundation which will help you build more advanced networking knowledge.

Some have argued that the CCNA certification is also entry level. It's not. Just ask all those that have studied and sat the exam for it. The CCNA doesn't teach you basic networking. It assumes you already know this, so now you can progress to something higher.

The Network+ is vendor neutral. The CCNA is vendor specific. In other words, it concentrates on a particular vendor's (Cisco's) products.

If you have been playing around with networks but don't know how far your knowledge stretches, go to Comptia's website and see which domains you will be tested on for the Network+. If you don't think you will pass the network+ exam, you will have no chance of passing the CCNA.
