How to attract the perfect IT job

In order to attract the perfect IT job you have to position yourself in a place where it will come to you.

Wishful thinking is all very well, but it doesn't work when you are wishing for a certain IT job and totally are doing things that repel that job from coming to you.

There are three ways to find your perfect career or job (whatever you want to call it), in IT...

1. Be clear about what you want

What exactly do you want to do? "I want to work in IT", isn't clear. It's just a general wish you are sending out there. Be specific, "I want to work in Network Security." Is clearer. "I want to an Ethical Hacker", is ever more clear.

Be specific in what you want, down to the last detail. Take the time to really think, explore and discover what it is you really want. Only by being clear can you focus on getting it.

2. Be worthy of what you want

Many people set up an elaborate goal without doing anything to achieve it. Are you worthy of becoming an Ethical hacker, to use the example above? You may not be right now, and that's ok. Being an Ethical Hacker is a future goal. But what will you do to achieve that goal is the question.

3. Work on yourself first

Getting any job you want is easy when you first work on yourself. Invest in your self. This is by far the best, value for money investment you can ever make. Go beyond certifications if you want to be a highly successful IT professional. Begin reading about how successful people think, what do they do, what traits they have, how they think. And as you do this, study for certifications that will lead you to where you want to go.
