The Aplus certification has 4 exams, but I only need to do 2. Which do I choose?

Yes, I hate when vendors do this as well. There are 2 important ones and 2 that 90% of us don't choose. So allow me to enlighten you.

The Comptia certification is a combination of two exams you need to pass. Yet on their website you will find a total of four exams offered.

The first you must pass is the A+ Essentials exam. From there, you have the rest of the three to choose from.

By far the most popular combination is A+ essentials (exam 220-601) and IT Technician (220-602) as this combination gives you well rounded knowledge.

You would choose the Remote Support Technician (220-603) or Depot Technician (220-604) if you had a specific purpose...

The Remote Support Technician deals with providing support over the phone. So you would choose this if your employer specifically wanted it.

Or

You would choose the Depot Technician specifically if you were working in a shop that dealt only with fixing hardware. You wouldn't have any contact with customers, so you wouldn't need to support them.
